A flock of wild turkeys cruise along a ridgeline last week outside of Grangeville. Turkey season opens Thursday, April 15, and runs until Tuesday, May 25. This year, turkey hunters can purchase two extra tags during the spring season after filling their first general season turkey tag. The general season tag costs $19.75. Extra tags cost $12.25 and can be used in the spring or fall. Additionally, hunters can buy an extra tag immediately after harvesting their first turkey instead of waiting until after April 31. The bag limit is still one bearded turkey per day.
